Sebastian Petrycy (Pilzno, 1554-1626), physician and philosopher, professor of medicine, successful practitioner and philanthropist, known for his translations of Aristotle.
Wojciech Oczko (1537-1599), physician, author of extensive treatises on balneology and syphilidology.
Jędrzej Śniadecki (1768-1838), writer, physician, chemist and biologist.
Tytus Chałubiński (1820-1889), physician, established systematic tuberculosis sanatoria in Zakopane in the Tatra Mountains.
