Glossary

Józef Piłsudski (1867-1935) was the military-political president of Poland. He was marshal of Poland and a key architect of the regaining of independence after World War One. He was the national leader in the late 1920s and 1930s.
The Polish Legions were Polish armed forces created on 8 August 1914 in Galicia, southeast Poland.
