Jadwiga and Jagiełło without swords

Fischer 334 | Michel 355 | Year of issue 1939 | Pre-war Poland

This is Fisher 312 with a slightly different look. Nazi Germany forced Poland to remove the swords and helmet at the feet of the king Władysław II Jagiełło and queen Jadwiga from this stamp because they claimed the design to the Universal Postal Union.
