Chęciny

Fischer (not numbered) | not included in Michel | Year of issue 1919

Originally fantasy issues, these stamps appeared in philatelic trade in 1919 after the Polish post had already been established. These stamps were not approved by the Polish postal authorities and they were never used on any mail! As the Austrian army was no longer in control when World War I was over, the use of these stamps was forbidden by the Polish government. Moreover, definitive Polish stamp issues were already available at the Chęciny post office. Chęciny is a village southwest of Kielce.
